The US supermajor revealed on Monday that it had reached first gas at the central North Sea project, but did not give an initial output figure. Upstream reported late last week that output from Alder was expected imminently. The project has a planned design capacity of 110 million cubic feet of natural gas and 14,000 barrels of condensate per day. Output is set to ramp up in the coming months, the operator said. Alder is a 28-kilometre subsea tie-back to the ConocoPhillips -operated Britannia hub.
